BlueVIS software
BlueVis offers a very simple way to control and monitor you process. With it´s open structure it enables to connect exsisting hardware independent from manufacturer or brand. You are free to decide which brands you want to use.
- Operating system Windows 10 64 bit or newer
- Modern processor with at least 4 cores and > 2.6 Ghz
- Hard disk: SSD recommended with at least 50GB free space (> 200MB/s data access)
- 8GB RAM
- Display >= 1920x1080 px (FHD)
With BlueVIS you can read and control sensors, actuators etc. from different manufacturers. In addition BlueVIS offers pre-installed soft sensors (for OUR, CER, and RQ) and native RS-485 support. BlueVIS also offers the opportunity to run older already existing sensors and acutators so you don´t need to buy everything new.
Yes, there is a 32 bit version with less functions, but we advice to use the 64 bit version.
This message occurs when there is an error with USB connection and/or Windows energy manager. Please check USB cable. Always use an active USB Hub and connect the power supply delivered with the hub. Remember to switch off all options in Windows energy manager deactivating parts of your PC (especially hard drive and USB) when it´s not in use.

This can be changed in the User configuration.
Only future values are changed. BlueVIS does not calculate back.
BacVis is a predecessor of the BlueVIS bioprocess software and was used to record and visualize the sensor data from the sensors. BacVis has been replaced by BlueVIS. If you have any questions or need support, BlueSens Service will be happy to help.
Yes, the OPC UA Server is included free of charge.
No, the free license key is included in the scope of delivery
Yes, if a pH probe is integrated and supplies values. There are two types of soft sensors for this.
A) Mathesensor: If a preset value is under/exceeded, a pump starts with x rmp. This value is transferred to a connected peristaltic pump, which then doses acid/base until the pH value falls below/exceeds the threshold value again.
B) A PID soft sensor can be configured according to the fermenter system.
First, a pO2 probe is connected. This signal is transferred to a BlueVIS soft sensor as a manipulated variable. The PID controller is now adapted to the fermenter system and the output signal is then transferred to the stirrer motor, for example. If cascade control is necessary, a second PID controller is set up for the mass flow controller for dosing air/O2.
In principle, yes, the integrated sequencer can set different manipulated variables for specific times. Often this can be better mapped via soft sensors, such as an exponential function for a feed curve.
Yes, the integrated sequencer can be triggered via an "event". For example, a batch end detection based on the CO2 concentration triggers the feed using a pump.
The Edit button at the top right of the graph can be used to mark values as "favorite" that should be visible. Here you can (and should) also adjust the colors.
For this purpose there are the CustomGroups. Here, each value can be displayed individually, e.g. all pH values from all reactors.
All BlueSens sensors can be calibrated via the "Service" button in the left menu. If several sensors are to be calibrated simultaneously, you can open a "Service" window several times.
In order to use BlueVIS or to record data, the hardware license key (USB dongle) must be inserted in the same PC. After opening the license manager, the ID of the dongle should be visible at the top. For further fermenters or OPC the enclosed license keys must be entered. If no additional keys are included, please check if they have actually been purchased. If the correct number of fermenters does not appear directly after the input, please close the window once and open it again. Only a limited number of sensors can be connected per fermenter (e.g. only one pH probe or pO2 probe).
Please start the "service" Mysql for BlueVIS. Admin rights may be required there.
It happens that e.g. by a Windows update the "background services" are stopped. Please check if the "BlueService" is running. If not, start it, close BlueVIS and restart.
Please contact the service department. We will be happy to help you.
There are no license fees. BlueVIS is purchased once and can be updated free of charge within the version e.g. BlueVIS 4.
We have decided not to run BlueVIS on a browser, as this can cause problems with updates. If you want to access your PC remotely with BlueVIS, you should use a secure remote software. The access (VPN etc.) is the same and the IP address of the PC must be known for both approaches.
In contrast to other providers, the connection of devices is free of charge and no additional license is required.
Yes, this is possible. Please contact our service department.
