Open software for bioprocess optimization

BlueVIS - The bioprocessing software

This is all you really need

A platform that allows to connect what you want

BlueVIS was originally developed to receive, visualize and save measured values from BlueSens sensors. It has now developed in a comprehensive bioprocess software.

Soft sensors and automatic calculations without programming knowledge
BlueVIS offers the option of using calculations or logic blocks, so-called soft sensors. Soft sensors allow the user to run frequently required calculations directly in BlueVIS (eg. RQ, OUR, CER…).
Examples of the use of soft sensors are, for example, the calculation of a rate of change or the use of control logic (if O2 is less than x, increase the stirrer speed). In principle, (almost) any complex calculations can be carried out directly in BlueVIS, resulting in almost endless application possibilities.

BlueVIS software allows to mix and match equipment to create a working setup
• Process software for automatic regulation
• DO cascades freely adjustable
• Automatic pH regulation
• PID control of all parameters possible
• Linear, exponential, or RQ feeding possible
• Integration of existing sensors, scales and other equipment
• Creation of custom soft sensors
• No annual fees and free updates
• Recording in database, export via CSV file or online connection via OPC DA/UA
• Custom Python and Matlab scripts can be imported

Controlling bioprocesses

BlueVIS is now a comprehensive tool for controlling bioreactors, including valves, pumps, temperature control, stirrers, etc.
BlueVIS can be used wherever bioprocesses are carried out. For example, biogas plants, pharmaceutical companies, food producers or service providers in process development. In addition to industrial use in manufacturing companies, BlueVIS is also used in research. Both internal research departments in companies in the above-mentioned industries and public basic research at universities use BlueVIS.

Use what you have: combine devices sensibly without restrictions

This is exactly what we call the “Use What You Have” (UWYH) principle: the scientist, engineer or operator has the opportunity to use devices that are already in the laboratory and to supplement them with devices from BlueSens or other manufacturers as required. All controlled with the help of the BlueVIS software.

Enabling communication

BlueVIS is characterized by its openness. Software is often limited to devices from the software manufacturer. If the user wants to use devices from different manufacturers, several pieces of software sometimes have to run simultaneously, as the software/hardware is not compatible with each other. This is inconvenient and may even pose a risk, as more work steps in complex software significantly increase the risk of user errors.
With BlueVIS, you can combine components from different manufacturers and only need one software.

Try BlueVIS now
The many interfaces make BlueVIS very suitable for trying out even unusual process control strategies. With interfaces to programming languages such as MATLAB or Python, even complex logic can be programmed. The user can link many functions together as required. Overall, BlueVIS offers a great deal of freedom.
