BlueInOne analyzers
Both measure CO2 and O2 in parallel. BIO ferm measures O2 via zirconium dioxide sensor, BIO cell via galvanic cell. This is why optimum concentration ranges for BIO ferm and BIO cell are different. Please see here to choose the right device or contact our sales team.
Both sensor types should be stored at 0 – 60 °C in a clean environment.
- BlueInOne Ferm: relative humidity lower than 75% (dry is the best)
- BlueInOne Cell: relative humidity between 5 and 99% (non condensing)
Electrochemical oxygen sensor in BIueInOne cell is (after calibration in that range) able to cover the whole range from 0 to 100% vol. oxygen. The ZrO2 sensor of BIueInOne ferm is limited to a smaller measuring range. ZrO2 shows a very low noise signal, but it needs a minimum of oxygen.
For anaerobic processes or processes with anaerobic phases please choose BIueInOne cell.
BIueInOne ferm is for use in aerobic processes only. Please do not use it in processes where anerobic phases may occur. BIueInOne ferm needs a minimum concentration of oxygen to ensure the oxygen sensor element is not damaged. This minumum concentration should ideally be the minimum of the measuring range: measuring range 0.1 to 25% --> minimum concentration should be 0.1%
BIueInOnes have two M12 ports. Port A is for electricity and serial communication (RS-232 and RS-485). Port B gives a 4-20mA signal for CO2 and O2 channel seperately. This one can directly be connected to your process lead.
We offer direct connection via serial RS232 or Modbus RS485 with seperate power supply. For RS485 we offer the possibilty to run the sensors in a daisy-chain. Modbus TCP connectors are available as well.
To prevent sensor drift, we recommend annual maintenance at our factory. To prevent failure of individual sensor elements, maintenance should be performed every 9000 operating hours or after two years at the latest. The BlueInOne indicates the expiration of 9000 operating hours by the message "calibration requested" (green and yellow LED flashing), if this message appears, you should contact our service. Please also note our cost-effective Blue4Care program.
Filters and sealings in your BlueInOne are very durable and made from high quality material. They will be checked in the regluarey mainentance. In addition to that you should check them when performing the 1-point calibration and whenever they might be dirty. You will find a detailed protocol for changing them in your manual.
We just need your sensor. Cable, flow adapter etc have to be sent only if you wish, that we check it.
Please perform a 1-point calibration at least once per month. You can easily do it yourself by following the instructions in the manual. In case you don´t use your sensor continously please perform a 1-point calibration before every new fermentation. In addition to the regulary 1-point calibration an on-site calibration should be performed once a year. Please remember to also check filters regularly and exchange them if needed.
1-point calibration by BlueSens is an easy way to minimize drift effects and ensure best results for your device. You can find detailed instructions in your manual.
Please follow the instructions given in the manual belonging to your device. If you can´t find the manual you can download it from our webpage.
Yes, we offer various connections and flow adapters to ensure easy connection to all types of fermenters and vessels in small scale up to industrial scales.
BIueInOnes communicate via RS-232 and RS-485 (Modbus) protocol. Additionally there is an analog output in 4-20mA. We can provide the commands. Please contact our service.
An additional measuring channel implemented in the sensor measures pressure, temperature and humidity of the gas inside the flow adapter. The values measured by BIueInOne are compensated.
Inside there is an infrared radiation (IR) source, a detector as well as the analysis electronics. The IR light is reflected by the measuring adapter which is filled with gas. The lightbeam is weakend by the analyte gas and measured by the detector. There is no cross sensitivity with other gases.
When you connect your BIO to the electricity the red LED should shortly blink and then the yellow LED should start shining. This is normal self testing. If red LED is shining (not blinking) or doesnt stop blinking please disconnect the electricity and try again after 5 minutes. If you still have problems please don´t hesitate to contact our Service.
Your sensor must heat before use. Please connect it to the power supply and wait for one hour. Green LED will start to shine. Afterwards the BlueInONe should operate and give a signal beteween 4 and 20mA.
BlueInOne must heat before use. Please connect it to the electricity for about 1 hour until the yellow LED turns off and the green LED starts shining. If the error still occurs please contact our Service.
BlueInOnes have an internal temperature measurement and all signals are temperature compensated.
BlueInOnes are heated to a fixed and controlled temperature. Out of the specified temperature range this temperature control is not guaranteed, so the measuring results could differ.
If the BlueInOne is waiting for a 1-point calibration, the warning that a factory calibration is required is only displayed when the 1-point calibration is performed. So if the BlueInOne indicates that 1-point calibration is required, this should always be carried out promptly.
