Anaerobic processes are playing an increasingly important role in the utilization of biogenic raw materials and residues on the way to a circular economy with decentralized energy or material biomass utilization. In this context, the demands on the processes are becoming more complex, be it in terms of flexibilization on the substrate or product side or, in general, better mechanization and monitoring of the processes. The better use of established and the integration of new process-analytical methods represent an essential building block in this context.

The Bio-PAT e.V. network is hosting a webinar on new developments in process analytical technologies in fermentation processes, for both gas and liquid phases. Among other topics, the potential of in situ particle size analysis for optimizing digestion processes, especially using ultrasound, will be presented.
